ISSUE 095 | August 2025
What a week of transitions and new beginnings - and not just because winter's finally giving way to spring! I'm graduating from the Climate Action Design School this week - six weeks learning the behavioural science, gamification, and marketing secrets that actually make people turn up, engage, and change for climate action. It's got my brain buzzing with possibilities for creating programs that communities genuinely love - and you'll see the results when the newest iteration of Business of Biodiversity launches soon.
Speaking of possibilities, I'm trying something new - releasing just 15 final shoot dates for the year, and once they're gone, they're gone. It's the first time I've worked this way, but with how busy things are, it feels right. If you're an existing client with projects ready to shoot, keep an eye on your inbox and grab the dates that work best for you.
I'm also knee-deep in what I'm calling "marketing mayhem" - new funnels, software, email sequences, the works. It's a lot, but I can feel the good things that will come as a result. Sometimes you have to embrace the chaos to create something better.
Thanks for reading.

You decide, I deliver
I'd love to hear from you. I've always been a bit of a jack of all trades, and while my overarching mission stays consistent - supporting nature-positive change in the built environment - there are several different paths I explore to get there.
As this community grows, I want to make sure I'm sharing the kind of content you're most interested in. Below is a quick poll with five options - please pick the topic that matters most to you. Your input will help me shape future newsletters so they're as useful and inspiring as possible.

So long, fat cats
Only 21% of Australians know what a B Corp is - so the movement has launched its first-ever awareness campaign, Better Business. The flagship ad is a cracker: meet Richie, a smug fat cat holding court in the boardroom, embodying greed and short-termism. Running on primetime TV and billboards across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, it celebrates B Corps leading the way.
This isn’t business as usual - it’s better business.

The house that thinks ahead
This passive house proves that the future of building isn't about adding more technology - it's about needing less of everything. Featured in the latest issue of Sanctuary magazine, this project achieves year-round comfort through smart orientation, superior insulation, and airtight construction. No massive heating bills, no energy anxiety, just a home that works with physics instead of fighting it.
Sometimes the most radical thing you can do is build sensibly.
