Build like the future‘s depending on it.

01

about.

Not all architectural photography is created equal.

Sustainable homes don’t look like the 1970s anymore. Forget mud brick experiments and bolted-on solar panels - today’s high-performance architecture is refined, intelligent, and beautiful.

That’s why I photograph differently. I wait until the landscaping matures. I insist on professional styling. Because I’m not just recording a building - I’m reshaping how people see sustainable design.

When your passive house or net-zero project is photographed with the same attention usually reserved for luxury homes, the conversation shifts. Sustainability stops looking like a compromise. It becomes the obvious, aspirational choice.

I help architects, builders, and developers showcase sustainable buildings in a way that makes people think “I want to live there.” That shift in perception is how we move the needle.

That’s why I’m taking the conversation further with a book on sustainable building materials, co-written with Aleesha Callahan (former Habitus editor) and to be published by Hardie Grant in 2027 - because these choices aren’t niche anymore, they’re the future of design.

Your values-aligned photographer for projects that matter.

services.

Photography

I only photograph buildings that matter - sustainable architecture and high-performance design for clients tackling climate change, biodiversity loss, and housing that actually works for people and planet. If you're creating the future of building, I want to document it.

Mentoring

I help photographers and small business owners get their act together - workflows that actually work, systems that don't break, and businesses built with purpose. Limited sessions because I'd rather do fewer things well than spread myself thin.

Pro bono

I donate my time to environmental organisations doing the hard work - from passive house advocacy to wildlife conservation. Because some fights are too important to sit on the sidelines, and these organisations deserve good pics to tell their stories.

press.

My work has been widely published across leading architecture, design, and interiors media in Australia and internationally. I don’t just document your projects, I help them get seen - pitching to editors on behalf of my clients at no extra cost.

I’ve had more than 550 print articles published in leading architecture and design magazines, and my images have appeared in over 10 architecture and interior books over the last decade. I use those connections to put my clients’ work in front of the right audiences - because the more visibility sustainable architecture gets, the more it becomes the benchmark.

I was the sole photographer for the interiors book Curate, published by Octopus Publishing Group (2021). The book has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide, with a French edition due for release by Marabout in Paris in November 2025. Since 2024, I’ve also been a regular contributor to Uppercase (Canada) - a quarterly magazine for the creative and curious - where I write an eco-column.

faqs.

  • I exclusively photograph sustainable architecture and design projects that advance the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. This includes passive houses, net-zero buildings, renewable energy integrations, biodiversity-focused developments, and any architecture using low-impact materials and energy-efficient systems. I don't photograph conventional projects - only those creating positive environmental impact.

  • I actually know what an HRV system does (and why you get excited about airtightness results). I understand that your north-facing windows aren't just "nice light" - they're strategic design decisions, and thermal bridging isn't something you fix with a band-aid.

I'm also Australia's only Certified B Corp architectural photographer, meaning my business has been independently verified for social and environmental performance. I'm carbon neutral, donate the equivalent of 5% of my annual revenue to environmental causes, and only work with clients creating sustainable buildings. When I photograph your passive house, I'm not just capturing pretty rooms - I'm documenting performance that matters.

  • Anyone can take a photo, but not everyone understands your values and mission. The built environment interacts with every UN Sustainable Development Goal, and I focus on the most urgent issues of our time: climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable communities.

When you're designing buildings that respect natural systems and support human wellbeing, you need a photographer who genuinely believes in that work. This focus means you get someone genuinely invested in your project's impact - every image helps others see what responsible design looks like and inspires more projects like yours.

  • Through my Business of Biodiversity program and photography practice, I help built environment businesses move beyond just talking about sustainability to actually demonstrating it. The images I create don't just show beautiful buildings - they tell the story of your commitment to creating spaces that are genuinely better for nature and people.

  • My rates vary based on package size and number of images. However, through my cost-sharing model, you can reduce costs by up to 50% when suppliers, builders, or other project collaborators join the shoot. Multiple parties can share the total cost while each receiving full licensing rights to the images.

  • Every package includes pre-production planning, the creative photography session, post-production editing, fully edited high and low-resolution digital images, standard licensing for self-promotional use, travel within one hour of the Macedon Ranges, and complimentary pitching of your project to Australian and international architecture publications.

  • Standard packages include non-exclusive, perpetual licensing for self-promotional use - marketing your brand and services. I retain copyright and reserve the right to license images to publications and third parties. The homeowner receives complimentary personal-use licensing for low-resolution images.

  • Yes, and I don't charge extra for this service. I have established relationships most of Australia’s editorial and architectural magazines, and am represented by an agency in Milan for international publications. I actively pitch client projects because sustainable design deserves recognition. While publication isn't guaranteed, my success rate is consistently high.

  • Cost-sharing allows multiple parties involved in a project to split photography costs. Common participants include architects, builders, landscape architects, interior designers, window manufacturers, and suppliers. Each party receives full licensing rights to the images. The more parties involved, the greater the savings - up to 50% off standard rates.

  • The Supplier 10 program adds bonus images to your package at no extra cost. In exchange, you share project proofs with your suppliers (window manufacturers, solar providers, flooring suppliers, etc.) so they can license images featuring their products. It's a win-win that strengthens supplier relationships while adding value to your portfolio.

  • Yes, I require professional styling for all architectural photography projects (unless you're an interior designer or stylist yourself). Professional styling significantly impacts the final image quality by clearing clutter, preparing each space, and adding curated props like bedding, cushions, and botanicals. I believe it's as important an investment as the photography itself.

  • I provide an online gallery with project proofs within 1-2 days of the shoot. Once you select your final images (and any cost-sharing partners agree on selections), I deliver fully edited images within a few days. Final images are supplied once the invoice is paid in full.

  • Everywhere! Travel within one hour each way of the Macedon Ranges is included, and beyond that I charge an hourly rate for travel time and mileage. For interstate projects, I arrange flights, accommodation, and car hire, which are charged separately.

  • Yes, I offer a limited number of one-on-one mentoring sessions for photographers and small business owners looking to improve their workflows, organisation, efficiency, and purpose. For photographers, I cover topics like licensing, pricing, portfolio building, getting published, interior photography techniques, and switching genres. For small business owners, I focus on workflow systems, client management, file organisation, branding, and incorporating purpose into your business. Sessions are tailored to your needs and can be 2-4 hours, virtual or in-person in the Macedon Ranges.

  • Yes, because apparently every photographer has a print shop these days. But mine's different - it actually gives back instead of just cluttering up more walls. Every year I donate the equivalent of 5% of my revenue to environmental causes, and 100% of profits from my Prints for Wildlife series go directly to independent wildlife shelters caring for native animals.

So when you buy my prints, you're not just getting pretty pictures - you're funding joey milk and wombat rehabilitation. Art with actual purpose from a female-owned, B Corp-certified business.

  • Absolutely. Lifting up organisations aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals is important to me. I donate time and services to not-for-profit organisations in biodiversity/conservation, climate change, and sustainable housing. I've worked with organisations including the Australian Passivhaus Association, Climate Council, Renew, Biodiversity Legacy, EcoGipps, Quoll Headquarters, Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network, and The Odonata Foundation. If you're a qualifying organisation, please reach out to discuss pro bono opportunities.

  • Through multiple channels: I run the Business of Biodiversity program helping built environment businesses take practical action for nature, offer mentoring to help other creatives incorporate purpose into their work, donate photography services to environmental organisations, and operate a print shop where profits support wildlife conservation. I also write Three Neat Things newsletter sharing practical sustainability tips for businesses.

If you have a project relating to sustainable architecture, climate change solutions or biodiversity and conservation, I’d love to hear about it.
