Callignee II is a remarkable house, operating on eco-friendly and sustainable living principles. It is 100% off grid, with rainwater harvested onsite, solar power is harnessed, and waste from the home is broken down via a Biolytic Blackwater system sunken into the earth.
The house was resurrected by the original owner after being burnt in the Black Saturday fires just after completion, and rebuilt into a resilient and fire-resistant home. It was then featured on the first Grand Designs Australia.
